This was my first attempt using the new set of Copic sketch markers I recently bought. I have to say using the Copic markers to color the my illustration brought to me the feeling of watercolor painting. Just like watercolor painting you have to start with the white of the paper to be the highlight of the illustration. From there you start with the lightest color and gradually blend in the next value of the color you are using. Continue building up the color tones until you get to the darkest color. I used a wet on wet technique to push and pull the color values throughout the different areas of the illustration.

In the gallery you will see work-in-progression shots from the beginning pencils all the way through to the completed the illustration.  I hope it puts a smile on your face!
