CUSTOM STAR WARS VANS PAINTING STAGE 01

Here’s a look at my painting process for a pair of custom shoes featuring Darth Sidious/Emperor. Painting process one starts with taping off both shoes so I can paint the star fields first before working on the image of the Emperor.

The star field is achieved using Liquitex free style brushes. I love these brushes because they give such a great random splatter effect.

After using the Liquitex free style brushes to create the star field, I moved on to adding a glow to various stars and adding bursts around the shoes. Then I painted in the main white base shape of the Emperor on both shoes. Once that dried overnight, I put down the pencils and then outlined the Emperor for each shoe.

THE BATMAN POSTER

Here’s a look at the all finished up traditional/digital hybrid Batman Movie Poster illustration inspired by The Batman Movie.

Overall, I enjoyed experimenting with new different techniques than I usually use to create my artwork. From the traditional painting of Batman and the building he standing on, to the digital techniques used to create the background sky, buildings and rain.

THE BATMAN PAINTING EXPERIMENT

I started on this Batman piece recently. It’s painted on black illustration board. In high school this was one of my favorite types of illustration, but back then I used colored pencils to render the subject. it’s great to experiment with this type of illustration using acrylics this time.
