This year Comic-Con celebrated it’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. I Didn’t get a chance to adventure around SDCC floor much, but here’s a little bit of what I did get some shots of this year.
I’ve been meaning to post this earlier, but been busy knocking out commissions and working on my indie comic magazine. I have 3 pieces of artwork on display at the Generations Art Exhibit which is currently running now through Monday, October 29. Everyone’s artwork on display can be seen at Legacy Commons and Palmdale Playhouse.
Here are some of the highlights from my 2018 SDCC experience. I did a couple portfolios this year. I saw the awesome Joe Jusko, he’s the reason I decided to pick up a brush and start painting. His new art book “Joe Jusko’s Marvel Masterpieces” was on sale and I was able have it signed. I visited my art friends booths, had a look at the many exhibitors, took pictures of cosplayers and hangout with family and friends while I was there. I took way to many pictures to share them all so here are some of my favorites.
In between commissions and projects I’ve been laying down pencils on sketch covers to paint in the future when time permits. Here is the finished Savage Opress pencils.
Here is the Lando Calrissian Sketch Cover pencils all finished up for the smoothes talking smuggler in the galaxy just in time for Solo. Hope to paint this in the near future.
I had 3 orders of custom shoes for Christmas presents this year. They consisted of Star Wars, Pittsburgh Steelers and Soccer. The custom artwork is painted on Converse All-Stars. It’s fantastic to be part of the process of making the holidays specials with custom apparel.
Been meaning to share this finished sketch cover but was busy finishing up Christmas commissions. So here it is, the Luke Skywalker Sketch Cover that I finished up just in time from the release of The Last Jedi. I’ve been looking forward to this movie for the last 2 years. The cover was rendered with Liquitex paint and Free•Style brushes.
Started the paint stage of this Luke Skywalker Sketch Cover. Here is the result of the using Liquitex free•style splatter brush and adding the glow to the star field with dry brush blending.
Here is another progress shot of my Ahsoka Tano painting for this years donation for local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Ashoka is almost all finished up. For a chance to win this original painting, other cool artwork or some Funkos go donate here https://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.search&filter=participant&searchTerm=barrel+aged+gamers
Finished laying down Luke Skywalker pencils on the Shattered Empire Sketch Cover. Looking forward to adding paint to this in the near future. Can’t wait to see The Last Jedi next month.
